Ventilation Climate Information System (VCIS)
The ventilation index is a product of surface windspeed and mixing height. Ventilation Index can be computed with winds at different levels above the ground. Because this climatology uses surface winds instead of higher, transport-level winds, it is a conservative estimate of ventilation potential and most applicable to smoke that remains relatively close to the ground.
